Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and creative Head Chef to join our vibrant team at Pholklore. The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, recipe development and ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent culinary skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.


Responsibilities:

  • Menu Planning and Development:

    • Design and create innovative and appealing menus in collaboration with the wider Pholklore group BOH senior management team.

    • Develop recipes, portion specifications, and standard preparation procedures to ensure consistency in food quality.

  • Kitchen Management:

    • Supervise and manage kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and other team members.

    • Coordinate and oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation.

    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards in the kitchen.

  • Quality Control:

    • Monitor food quality and consistency through regular tasting and inspection of food items.

    • Implement quality control measures to minimise food waste and maximise profitability.

  • Staff Training and Development:

    • Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, safety procedures, and kitchen etiquette.

    • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork among kitchen team members.

  • Inventory and Cost Management:

    • Manage inventory levels and oversee purchasing of food supplies and kitchen equipment.

    • Control food costs and labour expenses to meet budgetary guidelines.

  • Customer Relations:

    • Collaborate with restaurant management to meet customer expectations and enhance dining experiences.

    • Address customer feedback and resolve any food-related issues promptly and professionally..


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant or culinary establishment. Minimum 3+ years.

  • Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.

  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and ingredients.

  • Creative flair and passion for food with the ability to develop unique and innovative dishes.

  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and food hygiene practices.

  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
