Food Production Worker
(Central Prep Kitchen)
Pholklore’s Central Prep Kitchen (CPK) is the engine room behind our venues across the Geelong region.
We’re looking for reliable, hands-on people to join our production team. This is a varied role, and the work you do will depend on your experience, skills, qualifications.
You could be involved in food preparation, packing and storing products, receiving stock, cleaning and general kitchen duties. You might spend some of your time working with commercial cooking equipment, or doing more physical, hands-on production work, and even transport and logistics.

Food Production Worker
Location: Geelong
Employment Type: Full-time, Part-Time & Casual roles available
Salary: $27–$32/hour + super, depending on experience and role
Job Summary: We are seeking food production workers to work out of the Pholklore Central Prep Kitchen. Full on-the-job training is provided so formal qualifications or previous kitchen experience are not essential - we’re happy to train the right person. There are varied positions available including the following:
Responsibilities
Batch Cooking & Prep: Execute large-scale batch cooking and food preparation according to established recipes and Pholklore standards. This could include preparing ingredients, cooking sauces and other products.
Equipment Operation: Set up, operate and clean professional manual and electric food processing equipment, including commercial kettles, combi ovens, meat slicers and vacuum packing equipment.
Packaging & Labelling: Accurately package, label and prepare finished products for storage or dispatch to our venues.
Quality Assurance: Ensure every batch meets Pholklore’s standards for taste, appearance, portioning and consistency.
Inventory & Food Safety: Follow food safety protocols, receive and rotate ingredients, complete stocktakes and accurately maintain daily stock, production and other required records.
Hygiene & Maintenance: Complete cleaning and maintenance duties to keep the production kitchen clean, safe and compliant.
Load and unload trucks: Receive stock from suppliers, pack stock for restaurants.
What Success Looks Like:
Reliable and punctual
Great communication skills
Comfortable with hands-on, repetitive and physical work. Some roles involve lifting up to 15-20kg.
Able to stand for extended periods
Good attention to detail and consistency
Able to follow recipes, processes and food safety standards
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Comfortable working as part of a team
Nice to have, but not essential:
Kitchen, food production or manufacturing experience
Driver’s licence
Forklift licence
Food safety qualification
Depending on the role, availability includes Monday–Friday between 8am and 7pm. Part-time hours are also available. Some team members may also have the opportunity to work at GMHBA Stadium on selected Geelong Cats home game days.
